One of the worst scenarios a website owner can have is losing all of the data of his website. The data’s on our websites are saved in a database, and once you lose it without a backup, it would be impossible to retrieve it.
Doing regular database backup is really recommended not just for all website owners including bloggers. The only problem is doing manual databse backup is not for everyone. You need to have a good understanding on SQL and using Phpmyadmin to do that. If you don’t understand this thing, one option is to hire a WordPress developer to do it for you which would really cost you some dollars. Doing database backups is really easy and I wouldn’t recommend to spend so much money for it.
As an alternative, WordPress developers have developed plugins that will help us doing backups so easy that hiring someone to do it for you will be no more as an option. Here are the Top 5 WordPress plugins to Backup your database:
WP-DB-Backup allows you easily to backup your core WordPress database tables. This plugin allows us to save our database backups in our local computer. Doing backups for non-WordPress data can also be done with this plugin.
Online Backup for WordPress allows you to easily backup your entire WordPress database to your email, desktop or free 50 MiB on their secure servers. To be able to save backups on their servers, you must create a free account at https://wordpress.backup-technology.com/
WordPress Online Automated Backup
To be able to use this plugin, you’ll have to create a free account at wordpressbackup.com. This plugin automatically backups your database on a regular basis and sends it to wordpressbackup.com. Take note that you may only use 5M of space.

Choosing what plugin you should use to do backups for you is soley in your own discretion. This post is just here to help you in doing such decision. These plugins are also given to you for free from its WordPress developers. Giving a donation would really help them maintain it for you!
