Krispy Kreme Branch soon to be open in Cebu!

The long wait is over, Krispy Kreme will now be unveiled in Cebu City. I’ve heard about this news last February 2011. Rumors said that the branch will open late this year of 2011 or early 2012. (and I’m spreading the rumor to you!)

If you haven’t heard about Kripsy Kreme, they are one of the highly recommended best tasting doughnuts. It has become a worldwide sensation for both doughnuts and coffee. Honestly speaking, I haven’t tried them yet, I’ve only heard from them from some of my friends in manila and had those that have gone to manila. Back then when I knew that it was not available yet here in Cebu, it made me say ask why am I not in manila? Krispy Kremes stores are all over in Manila now and some branches in Pampanga (well at least that’s what their website says). I’m the type who only goes to far places with a reason, and flying to manila just to buy a box of doughnuts isn’t authentic enough of a reason. So waiting for it to be available here would be the best thing to do. (Hey I’m only craving for it, not dying).

I tried doing a quick search on google with the query “krispy kreme in cebu”. The first result was a news report about it by Sunstar. What I was intrigued about was the second result. It was a Facebook page entitled “Why cant someone franchise Krispy Kreme be in Cebu?!?!?“. I visited it and it had 700+ of likes. For a page targeting locale Facebook users, that’s quite a lot now, which tells that 700+ plus people may be willing to become future customers for Krispy Kreme Cebu. With that much people or even less than that, with a little dose of good outbound and inbound marketing, it would really be a piece of cake (doughnut?) to make it viral here.

Just the other day, kuya Ruben shared a status in his Facebook profile about Krispy Kreme Philippines Chairman Jim Fuentebella to personally unveil it’s 1st branch here in Cebu this monday, August 22. He also had it posted in the alternative filipino news site PINOYWORLD.

The meeting is exclusive though, so you need to have an invitation to attend. Even so, this is really thrilling for the people of Cebu City, as soon we will be able to taste this so called worldly sensation of doughnut and coffee. It’s another venue for us to socialize with friends, enjoying good food and service.

I find coffee shops as a good venue to socialize. And delicious food, I think of it as the best material thing to enjoy in this world. And if Krispy Kreme make my taste-buds enjoy, then so does my words.
